Tejo and women empowerment

Tejo and women empowerment

Tejo was established in 2013 by Gabrielle Cruz, a Filipino entrepreneur with a goal to combine her passion for hand-woven pieces and desire to help the community.

Tejo's underlying focus is to provide fair income to underprivileged Filipino women who are looking for opportunities to build up their life away from poverty, homelessness, and unemployment. Tejo empowers women, many who are mothers, to explore their creative side and to learn extra skills in weaving and stitching as a way to gain self-confidence and the confidence to be equal providers for their families. For many of these women, Tejo has allowed them to provide food on the table, education for their children, and a comfortable roof over their heads.
